Born in the city of Zdolbuniv, Oleksandr Akinin studied at Secondary School No. 6 and later at the Zdolbuniv Higher Vocational College of Railway Transport.
He played American football professionally, representing his hometown team, the Zdolbuniv "Eagles."
In August 2020, he was drafted into military service, and from 2021, he served under contract. Oleksandr served in the 24th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Less than a month later, while defending Ukraine near the settlement of Zolote, he sustained a concussion. Despite his injuries, he returned to the front.
On March 14, 2022, during intense fighting near Popasna in Luhansk Oblast, Oleksandr was killed by gunshot and shrapnel wounds.
He was laid to rest in the cemetery of the village of Hylcha Druha.
By Presidential Decree No. 323/2022 dated May 8, 2022, for personal courage and selfless actions in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for his loyalty to the military oath, Oleksandr Akinin was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III Class.
