Junior Lieutenant Oleg Bykhovets, aged 22, was killed in action on April 28, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling.

Oleg was born in the village of Kozlyanychi, Chernihiv region. He studied at the local school and later graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the Chernihiv Regional Scientific Lyceum. In 2022, he completed his higher education at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. That same year, he graduated from the Faculty of Postgraduate Education of the Odesa Military Institute, where he received his initial officer rank.

From childhood, Oleg had a deep passion for football.

In November 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, becoming a platoon commander in the 88th Battalion of the 35th Independent Marine Brigade, named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi.
