Vasyl Kilyushyk, an honored citizen of the Varash city territorial community (posthumously), was born on January 14, 1998, in Varash. He studied at General Education School No. 5.
In March 2016, Vasyl began his training at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Peter Sagaidachny in the village of Starychi, Lviv region. After completing training, he was assigned to military unit 1376 — the Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, based in Konotop.
In July 2017, Vasyl served under contract in military unit A4590 — the 16th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion in Hlukhiv. He fought as part of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. Vasyl held the position of senior soldier and commander of the combat vehicle in the second motorized infantry squad of the second motorized infantry company.
Tragically, on February 20, 2021, Vasyl died in a fire that broke out early in the morning at the platoon strongpoint. DNA analysis was conducted to identify his body. Three months later, on May 27, his ashes were laid to rest in the cemetery of the village of Stara Rafalivka.
Vasyl was a graduate of the Varash Children's and Youth Sports School, where he participated in the Youth Football League Championships of Rivne Oblast. His coach was Ivan Hryhoryvych Malets.
